She began her study of Oriental Medicine in 1982 when she learned Jin Shin Do acupressure and went to work as a volunteer in the Santa Cruz, CA county school system performing acupressure in Special Education classrooms. In 1984 she entered the Five Branches Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine also in Santa Cruz. Upon completion in 1988 she traveled to China where she worked and studied in a hospital in Fu Jian province. Beth moved to Austin in 1991 and has practiced full time ever since. For eleven years she was on the faculty of the Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin where she taught the Theory and Philosophy course and served as a Clinical Instructor, including supervising a student clinic at a local nursing home. In her career, Beth has experience treating a wide variety of concerns, from the commonplace to the more serious, and is proud to be an educator as well as a practitioner.
