Coming of Age Austin Metro presents a free Learning Lab for nonprofit professionals: "Capturing the Energy and Expertise of People 50+". Did you know there are over 158,500 Baby Boomers in Travis County? In the coming years, Boomers will be retiring from full-time employment and looking for rewardign ways to give back to their community. Is your organization prepared for them?
Workshop attendees will learn how to:
- Engage the talents, skills, and enthusiasm of people 50+
- Craft compelling volunteer opportunities that appeal to a variety of generations
- Market volunteer opportunities more effectively
- Recruit and supervise an intergenerational volunteer network through empowerment and collaboration
The workshop will be held on Wednesday, April 10th & Thursday, April 11th, 2012 from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. at 100 North IH-35 in the Travis County Health and Human Services building (the old Palm School building), directly across the street from IHOP at Cesar Chavez and IH 35 access road.
