ABOUT THE SERIES
Weird! True Hollywood Tales is a biography/pop culture history lecture series that focuses on the fascinating lives and strange deaths of iconic celebrities, Hollywood tragedies, and shocking scandals from the 20th century. The bi-monthly lectures revolve around a central historical theme with related biographies being presented by some of Austin's funniest comedians and performers.

Episode X: Endless Bummer
In the early 1960s The Beach Boys music dominated the charts and they came to personify southern California youth culture with fun, catchy songs about cars, girls and surfing. The group consisted of brothers Brian, Dennis and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love and best friend Al Jardine.

However, by the mid 60s, things began to go horribly wrong for the group. Infighting, family drama, childhood rivalries, drug abuse and mental illness were poised to tear the Beach Boys apart.

In this episode, join us as we chronicle the rise, fall and resurrection of America’s first rock band.

Presented by comedian Lashonda Lester
Hosted by Luke McClory
