Job Description Manager of Facilities & Infrastructure: Company Overview: Competition Roofing, Inc. (CRI) is an established commercial roofing company that maintains, services and replaces commercial roof systems. Most of our work is in the Houston metro area. We also have customers with facilities throughout Texas, in other states and in major cities around the world, and our Houston-based staff regularly travels to work at these locations. CRI has a trained, dedicated and long-tenured staff that does precise, high-quality work. We are consistently profitable and debt-free. We compensate our employees very well and even in slow economies we have never laid off an employee in our 34 years of business. We own our buildings, service fleet, equipment, tools and support infrastructure, which we maintain in excellent condition. All of these items, along with a large and specialized material inventory, support our commercial roofing operations. Primary Job Responsibilities: . Manage the operations, maintenance and improvement of CRI's various commercial and industrial buildings. . Manage, maintain and be accountable for a large inventory of commercial roofing materials. . Manage, maintain and be accountable for a large number of commercial power tools, motorized machinery and specialized roofing equipment. . Manage the maintenance, repair and replacement of CRI's service fleet and infrastructure, and maintain accountability for each item. . Manage the leasing, tenant interaction, operations, maintenance and improvement of commercial and industrial buildings and spaces occupied by tenants. . Lead the on-going planning, development and expansion of buildings and infrastructure on CRI's campus, and on other commercial lease and development projects. . Lead the design and fabrication of large sheet metal and/or structural steel fabrication projects, primarily related to CRI's commercial roofing projects. . Design specialize rooftop equipment, update building and campus plans, draw rooftop equipment layouts, make fabrication and production drawings, etc. If these are not fully developed skills that an otherwise qualified and willing job candidate already has, we will assist with training and provide reasonable time for these skills to be learned. Preferred Experience: . 5 years managing commercial or industrial facilities. . 5 years managing and directing people, vendors, and suppliers, and ensuring they are accountable for their performance. . 2 years managing commercial fleets, infrastructure and/or tools and equipment. . 2 years managing and documenting a commercial material inventory, forecasting inventory needs, ensuring inventory availability, etc. Preferred Education: . Bachelor's degree in a design or mechanical discipline (civil engineering, architecture, construction science, mechanical technology, etc.). . A combination of equivalent experience, associate's degree, training certificates, etc. will also be considered. Necessary Attributes: . Attention to detail. Able to complete all levels of task requirements including the fine details. . Self-Inspired. Able to start, prosecute and complete tasks without external help or pressure. . Flexible. Able to respond to changing priorities, changing hours, frustrating circumstances, etc. without losing focus and/or the ability to equitably deal with and manage others. Able to travel to various building sites, job locations, etc. . Practical hands-on construction experience. Commercial construction and/or fabrication experience is preferred but residential experience may also be considered. . Technology Friendly. Adept using Adobe and Microsoft Office programs, a good working knowledge of Auto Desk, Solid Works or similar design and engineering drawing programs. . Excellent People Skills. Able to work well with many different personality types, especially when accountability or discipline are required with peers or subordinates. Very comfortable collaborating, accepting and sharing ideas and perspectives, etc. . Mobility. This job requires climbing ladders, climbing scaffolds, inspecting facilities, lifting tools and equipment, wearing and using a fall protection harness and related equipment, etc. Generally good fitness and mobility are required. . Personal Integrity. We work at a variety of secure facilities and many sites require a security clearance. You must be able to qualify for a security clearance, which requires clean legal and driving records and no major financial issues (recent bankruptcy, behind on taxes, etc.).
