Position Summary:
The main function of the Server is to provide friendly, efficient service of food and beverages desired by guests and collect payment for such items. Provide an atmosphere of welcome and warmth; generated by a sincere concern for all guests satisfaction. Payment must be received and accurately recorded.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Ensure the entire work area is clean and free of clutter at all times during the shift to include but not limited to sweeping, mopping, cleaning up all leftover food items and cleaning off and sanitizing all surfaces in the dining room area. Clean, clear and reset dining room tables.
2. Remain calm under all circumstances and remember to have a good, positive attitude.
3. Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner.
4. Effective in listening, understanding and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by co:workers and guests.
5. Complete opening/closing checklists according to standards.
6. Welcome guests, take their orders, ring in order in POS system, deliver prepared order to guest and receive payment for order.
7. Have full knowledge of entire menu, as well as daily specials, desserts, etc.
8. Make and sell coffee, espresso, cappuccinos, tea and other products on the menu.
9. Ensure compliance with all health department regulations.
10. Maintain the cleanliness of Outlet, complete side work as assigned.
11. Have knowledge of beverage options to up sell aggressively.
12. Meet and greet guests promptly. Greet arriving guest in pleasant manner, making them feel welcome
13. Monitor guests for intoxication and report such findings to manager immediately.
14. Ask departing guest if food and service were satisfactory and invite guest to come back again.
15. Report to Manager any unsatisfactory food or beverage item mentioned by guests.
16. Daily check of physical plant of restaurant areas.
17. Process credit cards and room charges, make change from cash register.
18. Control the traffic flow of the guest in the dining room.
19. Work flexible hours and shifts.
20. Assist other departments as needed.
21. Will cross train for other positions and may assume the role of other food and beverage positions including, but not limited to: Bartender, Cocktail Server, Host/Hostess, In Room Dining, and Market Cashier.
22. Stock all food items as needed and rotate stock items according to expiration date.
23. Watch inventory in dining area and report to Management when items are getting low and need to be reordered.
24. Will be required to report to work on time, wear a clean uniform and visible name at all times during schedules shift, as well as maintains a well groomed and professional appearance while on property.
25. Responsible for the promotion of a safe and professional workplace through adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the G Lodging Food and Beverage Standard Operating Procedures.
26. Has full knowledge, understanding and adheres of our companys handbook, SOPs, policies and processes.
27. Practice safe working conditions under Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines to include Blood borne pathogens.
28. Attend all designated staff meetings and training sessions.
29. Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by supervisor or management.
30. Use empowerment to exceed associate and guest expectations and resolve conflicts.
31. Associates are encouraged to offer improvement ideas and acknowledge good performance of others.
32. Associates are to work as a team helping all teammates to complete the required activities which will ensure guest satisfaction.
33. Associates should always demonstrate self:confidence, energy, and enthusiasm.
34. Associates should take initiative to offer assistance or answer questions throughout the hotel.
