Purpose
The Campus Real Estate Office is seeking an individual to fill the role of Real Estate Officer who will assist with several key responsibilities for the office. The Real Estate Officer reports directly to the Director of Real Estate for the university and will provide project management, acquisition, property manageme
Essential Functions
Assist with office leasing and project management of an assigned commercial real estate portfolio. Assist with Special Projects, including site visits, developer / broker meetings, project management, and document preparation. Perform lease, acquisition and development due diligence, including obtaining bids and ordering survey, title, environmental assessments, title surveys, title commitments, and appraisals. Assist in the preparation of easements and license agreements with the City of Austin and other utility providers. Monitor income producing real property assets held for the benefit of U.T. Austin and reconcile operating expenses for leased properties. Other duties as assigned. Serve as liaison between office and school departments, UT System, developers, city offices, and project stakeholders. Ensure compliance with U.T. System rules and policies as they relate to the designated portfolio. Prepare internal and external reports related to assets held.
Marginal/Incidental functions

Licenses:
Class \"C\" Operator's Driver's License. Applicant selected must provide a current three year Driving
Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License
within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
Required qualifications
Bachelor's degree and Texas Real Estate license required. Minimum of seven years of commercial real estate experience, including commercial/multifamily property management and project management experience. Residential real estate experience does not qualify. Knowledge of commercial leasing processes and RFP and RFQ processes. Familiarity with aspects of property management and County property records and taxing authorities. Ability to read and evaluate commercial real estate documents; including easements and licenses. Ability to create and edit maps and images for informational support. A collaborative attitude with strong organizational and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of State and local statutes and regulations. Familiarity with development and construction practices.

Maintain acceptable driver rating as established in Policy: UTS157 Section 2.5.4.
A criminal history background check will be required
for finalist(s) under consideration for this position.
The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement
System of Texas (TRS), subject to the
position being at least 20 hours per week and at least
135 days in length.
