Summary of Role: Support the legal needs of the various SunPower departments with emphasis on the global residential commercial team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):
:Draft and review consumer:facing agreements, including home improvement contracts, warranties, leases, power purchase agreements (PPA), and other financial product offerings.
:Draft, review and negotiate affiliate/value added reseller agreements, subcontracts, operation and maintenance (O and M) agreements, service agreements, marketing agreements, and other company contracts.
:Provide day:to:day legal support in the development of origination, servicing, and default policies and procedures, outbound/inbound telephone scripting, training materials, and loss mitigation.
:Assist with the negotiation of financing agreements with variousfinanciersfor our residential finance offerings.
:Monitor legal developments in the consumer finance industry and convey relevant developments of such to business clients.
:Supervise other legal matters associated with rooftop residential solar installations.
:Coordinate and oversee work performed by outside counsel, contract attorneys and support staff providing legal support to the business.
Minimum requirements : The least amount of skills and training candidates must have to do a specific job.
:4 years of legal experience, preferably in the consumer finance, energy, construction and/or renewables industries
:Currently licensed to practice law
:Familiarity and experience analyzing and applying, laws and corporate policies related to Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, state servicing or collection laws, Truth:in:Lending, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Gramm:Leach Bliley, Telephone Consumer Protection Act, and other applicable federal and state laws governing the servicing and collection of consumer debts.
:Experience in the legal fields of construction, including construction related claims, energy, including renewable energy, development, real estate and/or structured and project finance.
:Capable of identifying and resolving legal and business issues, appropriately balancing legal issues with business risk in support of SunPower's business
:Must be self:motivated and comfortable in a fast:paced, high growth:company
