# Job Description
**Sr. System Administrator**
Volt is looking for a Sr. Systems Administrator to join one of our clients that is in the Healthcare industry. Our client excels at helping people to maintain or regain their freedom of movement. For over 100 years, our client has been producing innovative products and devices to assist people's recovery from amputation, joint surgery, and other medical procedures. # Key tasks of the role:
+ Work with the IT Infrastructure manager in planning and implementing IT projects
+ Work in accordance with IT security best practices and adhere to network security policies
+ Troubleshoot and resolve problems and outages
+ Collaborate closely with Senior IT Architects and Engineers
+ Responsible for the management of our Asset Management system
+ Analyze and resolve complex problems associated with server hardware, applications and software integration
+ Maintain up-to-date documentation of system configuration and operating procedures
+ Monitor systems for optimum performance and availability
+ Implement system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of both the server and the different technologies within the infrastructure
+ Troubleshoot and resolve customer and internally-reported system problems
+ Implement and monitor corporate security policies
+ Document and implement system procedures, policies and events
+ Perform essential functions required for effective system backup and restore testing
+ May manage data access and data permissions
+ Provide recommendations on required hardware and system configurations to improve overall system performance and security
+ Keep the end user login script up to date with changes
+ Work with the helpdesk to provide Level 2/3 support for infrastructure
+ Work with IT team located in several locations
+ Be able to work independently and other duties as assigned
+ Up to 25% travel requirements to remote office locations across North America to perform server and infrastructure installation and support
# Knowledge and experience:
+ Bachelor (4-year) degree with a technical major
+ 5+ years of experience in a System Administrator Role
+ Experience with server support (Windows 2008, 2012, 2016) and spinning up new servers (Dell Blade Servers), both physical and virtual servers
+ Experience performing system level backups, deploying and managing virtualization technologies (VMWare, ESX, Hyper-V, etc.)
+ Experience working with VMWare/ESX
+ Working knowledge of security platforms, techniques, and management
+ Experience working with Citrix is preferred
+ Experience working with Cisco VoIP is preferred
+ Experience with MSSQL, MySQL is preferred (2008/2012)
+ Experience with Active Directory (GPOs/Security)
+ Disaster Recovery Plan Experience
+ Clear understanding of networking and storage principles and architecture (SAN storage experience preferred)
+ Some experience with information security
+ Some experience with project management
