General Description:
Manage store employees and daily pawnshop and check cashing operations. Manager shall be responsible for timely preparation of store activity reports and transmittal to corporate office. Ensure customer satisfaction. Lend money to customers on personal property, must examine personal property; i.e., jewelry, cameras, electronics, tools, and musical instruments to determine condition to assign pawn/pledge value for pawn loans. Must price to sell unredeemed pawn loan collateral according to market conditions and merchantability. Maintain regulatory compliance for all licensed operations including pawn loans, firearms dealer and second hand dealer activities.
Key Duties:
Manage store staff of 2 to 7 employees;
:Works with staff to set store sales goals of unredeemed pledged items.
:Adjust daily/weekly schedule for shift personnel to ensure optimal efficiency
:Train and evaluate employees
Set personal individual sales goal to sell unredeemed pledged items.
Follow procedures set out by Company Policy including opening and closing procedures;
:Report Daily Store Activity to Corporate.
Assigns pledge values and sales pricing to consumer goods based on appraisal methods and knowledge of values by, but not limited to;
:Knowledge of local area market advertising and consumer buying trends.
:Make assessments of marketability and obsolescence of consumer goods.
:Weigh gold or silver jewelry articles, employ acid test to determine carat content to verify value of precious metal.
:Inspect and assess diamonds for clarity and color using traditional jewelers equipment.
:Reject consumer goods in unsatisfactory condition or having no pledge value.
Follow rules and guidelines to maintain compliance with local, regional and national regulatory bodies (ATF, OCCC, Sheriffs Department);
:Examine customers identification and record thumbprints for police reports.
:Issue properly completed pawn loan tickets and maintain archive for pawn loan records.
:Computes interest when pledges are redeemed or extended.
:Maintain good rapport with local law enforcement and community.
Must have two to five years of experience in pawn industry;
Computer Skills (MS Office, Pawn:Master, ATF, NICS);
Leadership and Interpersonal Skills; and
Bilingual a Plus.
