Job Description:/h3:
BASIC FUNCTION

Develop and implement successful strategies to recruit and retain physician group practices, including required research, analysis of target markets, and calls and visits with target groups.

MAJOR
RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS

1. Identify physicians practicing in group and employed settings and develop and implement effective membership development strategies and outreach efforts including:
a. ongoing analysis of non:member and member data
b. local visibility, visits, and membership outreach to current and prospective members
c. segment marketing and messaging for specific audiences
d. identifying appropriate vehicles and venues for marketing efforts
e. building a network of contacts through prospecting and referrals
2. Use available information to develop and implement successful, cost:effective customized packaging and delivery of TMA benefits and services based on group needs.
3. Work across the association to ensure the value of membership is represented, member service opportunities are timely and relevant, and current issues are appropriately leveraged for marketing, recruitment, and retention efforts.
4. Maintain state and local market relationships and presence, including extensive travel to county medical societies, academic health centers, and physician groups and networks.
5. Reach and/or exceed sales goals.
6. Perform other related duties as directed or required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

No supervisory responsibility.

INDEPENDENCE/SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Methods and procedures may not be specifically defined. Instead, assignments are usually defined in terms of broad objectives and functions rather than specific tasks. Employee may be required to develop or research appropriate strategies to be used to achieve assigned objectives and work with others to implement.

GENERAL QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge and Experience:

Knowledge required is equivalent to the attainment of bachelors degree and 5 to 7 years of work experience. Must have marketing and/or sales background and prefer knowledge of the healthcare industry and association experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Skills and Abilities:

Must be self:motivated, goal driven, self:motivated, multi:tasker, who is well organized and able to plan work which requires evaluating facts to determine courses of action. Ability to build rapport, strong relationships and to relate well to others. Strong oral, written and electronic communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are essential. Cross:divisional coordination with other professionals required and essential to success. Ability to adapt quickly to changing environment and demonstrate both independent and collaborative judgment needed. Must be skilled in data analysis and sales.

The position will require reliable transportation for local travel and flexibility for occasional work before and after normal business hours.
