**Job Description**
Manages the development and implementation of the managed care financial strategies and analytics to align with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Provides leadership to Contracting & Payer Relations Analysts and oversees the development of and continuous improvement of the analysts and their duties. Supervises and directs the daily operations of the Analytical team and prepares annual goals, objectives, and strategies for the department.
+ Oversees the utilization and continuous improvement of the financial reports and analytics used for contract management.
+ Develops a national managed care finance and analytics structure that facilitates advanced analytics to leverage Ascension s scale and embrace competencies needed for transitions to value based care reimbursement.
+ Leads the development and testing of contract pricing models with contracted payers that maximize net operating margins and ensure market competitiveness.
+ Serves as the network contact for managed care contracting functions. Supports resolution of managed care contractual issues pertaining to contract interpretation and coding with payers in conjunction with contracting and revenue cycle staff.
+ Assesses managed care contracting requirements and standards as they relate to industry/regulatory issues and market implications. Recommends and implements necessary improvements and revisions to contracting requirements and standards.
+ Coordinates with ministry CFOs to provide Managed Care input for the five-year Integrated, Strategic, Operational, and Financial Plan (ISOFP) for each ministry.
+ Works with Ascension CFO and National Vice President Contracting & Payer Relations to develop a national managed care budget.
+ Assists in the negotiation and oversight of all major value based contracts across the national ministry.
+ Develops recommendations for financial goals on new contracts and remediation on existing contracts.
+ Follows company policies and procedures.
+ Must be able to travel to other company sites or business functions, as needed.
+ Provides education and training to staff or third party vendors, as needed.
+ Performs other duties as assigned or as needed by the business.
**Qualifications**
**Education:**
+ HS or Equivalent
+ Bachelor s degree in statistics, economics, accounting, finance, health administration, or another related field is preferred.
+ MHA or MBA is preferred
**Work Experience:**
+ Five years technical experience required. Ten years technical experience preferred.
+ Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in finance or financial analytics, preferably in Managed Care, with experience in billing, reimbursement, revenue cycle, or contracting preferred.
+ Minimum of two (2) years in a financial leadership position, managing a team and developing financial strategies and objectives preferred
**Technical Skills:**
+ Managed Care and Revenue Cycle knowledge.
+ Proficiently utilizes Microsoft Excel and other database tools such as Microsoft Access, SQL, or the like.
+ Negotiating skills.
+ Strong analytical skills.
