Application Modernization Studio Manager

As part of the team, you will work in our Application Modernization Studio, which sits in a beautiful area of Austin, Texas, just minutes from downtown. Here, we work with our Products partner on developing and delivering the automated refactoring and modernization service offerings to clients.
Work you’ll do
As an Application Modernization Studio Manager, you will work as part of the Application Modernization Organization in the Technology Team as a team lead in the Modernization Support group. This self-starter will support application modernization projects across industries. You will work
with a project team on application modernization projects to help transform application code written in older/legacy languages (e.g., COBOL, Natural, PL/1) into modern languages (e.g., Java, .NET). This process helps our clients solve problems, improve operations, and update their applications more easily, quickly, efficiently, and cost-effectively. You will not work alone; rather, you will work alongside smart, dynamic colleagues.
You’ll engage in:
Being a Technical Team Lead for a team modernization engineers
Assignment and monitoring of tasks per the workplan
Analysis of code to determine enhancements or modifications
Providing status to project leadership reports
Analysis of batch inputs and outputs
Developing and providing input to deliverables as required

Application Modernization Studio Manager are required to have:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years’ experience required
Demonstrated 8 – 12 years of experience with application architecture or solution development with JEE(J2EE) or .NET or demonstrated experience developing in Natural and ADABAS or working with other mainframe technologies COBOL, PL/1, JCL and VSAM
Strong analysis skills
Demonstrated understanding of code analysis, code conversion and automated testing tools
Demonstrated understanding of the nuances of the SDLC
Demonstrated experience executing the SDLC against multiple technology projects
At least 5 – 8 years of experience managing large technology engagements, including project management-related tasks and managing multiple work threads or engagements
At least 5 – 8 years of experience with application architecture and solution development with JEE(J2EE) or .NET
At least 5 – 8 years of experience leading technical analysts or development teams through system migrations, updates, or implementations
In addition, successful Application Modernization Studio Manager will have the following preferred background:
Demonstrated understanding of tool based modernization, including code analysis, code conversion and automated testing tools
Demonstrated understanding of the nuances of the tool based modernization SDLC
Demonstrated experience executing the SDLC against multiple modernization projects
Familiar with Object Orientated Programming/Design
Ability to communicate and work in a project team environment
Effective interpersonal and communication skills
Strong desire to work with application code and conduct detailed analysis to recommend solutions for updating modernization products and tools
Consulting background a plus
Experience with database design
