The HR Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting the organizations efforts related to all aspects of EEO/affirmative action and all HR compliance activities in areas such as employee training and government reporting and postings.

Primary Responsibilities

:Manage the completion of the Affirmative Action Plans working with the local EEO coordinators and National EEO Administrator.
:Help communicate HMHs Affirmative Action Program commitment both internally and externally working with the local coordinators, National EEO Administrator, Talent Acquisition, the Human Resources Business Partnership (HRBP) team and senior management.
:Identify problem areas with management and the HRBP team. Help establish action items and evaluate results of those actions.
:Participate in work group analyses, job group analyses, and utilization reviews.
:Participate in the establishment of annual goals working with the EEO local coordinators and the National EEO Administrator. Maintain metrics regarding progress against goals and prepare periodic updates for management.
:Play a leadership role in the implementation of HMHs action:oriented plans working with local EEO coordinators, Talent Acquisition, the HRBP team, and the National EEO Administrator to drive actionable and trackable results Participate in the HR Diversity and Inclusion Committee and create environment of learning and enthusiasm for outreach by the TA team.
:Help develop and roll out processes to incorporate the AAP goals into recruitment and other employment processes.
:Help in the development and implementation of training related to AAP/EEO
:Serve as liaison with area employment agencies, colleges/universities and diversity organizations to create partnerships and attend recruiting events
:Maintain AAP recordkeeping and submit reporting as required.
:Analyze results and submit progress updates periodically as determined by the National EEO Administrator, develop mid:year AAP updates, and then at year end report on results against AAP goals.
:Ensure there is an effective liaison effort between the appropriate recruiting personnel, local management and

:Veterans organizations

Other Areas of Responsibility
:Stay on top of governmental reporting legislation. Ensure the required federal and state posters are properly displayed in employee and applicant posting locations across all HMH US locations. Ensure notices are sent to employees as required by legislation. Complete EEO:1 and Vets4212 reporting in accordance with federal requirements.
:Manage all aspects of HMHs compliance training program for new hires and employees promoted into roles requiring training: Ethics/Code of Conduct, Workplace Harassment/Discrimination Prevention, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and others as needed. Ensure timely enrollments, address system users questions, monitor completion and work with employees, managers, and HRBPs as needed to ensure employees complete training within stated timelines.
:Ensure new hires are sent the company Employee Guide shortly after hire date and monitor certifications to ensure completion within 30 days of their hire date.
:Manage all aspects of HMH finger:print based criminal history checks including: Work with Business Desk to identify school fingerprint background check requirements
:Identify and administer process for completing fingerprint background checks to comply with requirements
:Respond to Business Desk requests for HR compliance information and workforce reporting in order to comply with HMH contracts with customers.
:Cross:train in order to provide back:up to the contingent workforce management program
