The Coordinator of Educational Services under the supervision and collaboration of the Director of Educational Services oversees and directs the planning, organizing and implementation of education services for SWK programs. Ensure that all SWK policies and ORR requirements are fully implemented across all UM programs. Ensure that the six hours of educational instruction are implemented according the Office of Refugee Resettlement policy throughout the Unaccompanied Minor s Shelter Programs.
+ Perform the functions of this position with a strong understanding of SWK Policies and procedures, ORR policies and procedures, licensing standards.
+ Collaborate with the Director of Education in the development and maintenance of standardized educational service approaches across all shelters.
+ Collaborate with the Director of Education in the development and conducting of training the educators as needed; identify and make recommendations for e-learning and other training requirements.
+ Collaborate with YCW Service Director and Coordinators to develop systems and protocols for the direct care services that education is required to support and follow for the care and safety of all clients in care.
+ Collaborate with the executive management team to ensure compliance with regulations in policy development /implementation, as well as on-going program refinement based upon advances in the field.
+ Prepare written reports and presentations related to education programming, and deliver to appropriate audiences as needed.
+ Collaborate with Director of Education, Regional Executive Directors and Public School Districts on the MOU's provide the required education services to meet the state requirements and funding source policies.
+ Work independently and collaboratively on a variety of projects meeting timelines.
+ Provide assistance in oversight, supervision and training of education staff and YCW assisting the education department, monitoring of client services, documentation and developing ongoing partnerships with community providers.
+ Must be available to travel to other cities, states, SWK sites and community sites as needed in order to support necessary program operations and as needed for required training and implementation of new initiatives.
+ Able to respond and adjust to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
+ Bachelor s degree required in education or other related field.
+ Two (2) years of experience teaching within a residential, institutional or educational setting and two years supervisory experience.
+ Must be computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Windows (Word Perfect, Microsoft Word, Excel)
+ Required to work a flexible schedule to facilitate program services.
+ Cleared Tuberculosis test results.
+ Cleared background check from appropriate entity.
+ Bilingual (English/Spanish)
+ Cleared drug test results (this one is for Texas programs only)
+ Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.
Must be able to obtain Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification and First Aid Certification (CPR). Must be able to supervise clients indoors and outdoors as necessary. Bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs required to complete daily tasks. Job requires extended periods of sitting; use of various office equipment.
This is a twenty four hour residential facility at which minors receive multiple services. Three shifts per twenty four hour period. Work shifts are subject to change. Noise levels vary from mild to moderate. Predominantly indoors, occasional outdoor monitoring or activities.
