Job Description:/h3:
Reports to: Land Manager
Summary/objective :
The Landman will be responsible for planning and development of specific geographical areas. The position requires a strong knowledge and application of negotiating, organization and communication skills. This position routinely interacts with multiple disciplines such as engineering, geology and legal.
Essential functions :
:Coordinate and manage land brokers on leasing, title preparation and title curative
:Coordinate with title attorneys in the preparation of Drilling/Division Order Title Opinions.
:Work with Geology and Reservoir Engineering to plan and organize project areas and identify locations for the drilling rig schedules.
:Preparation and/or review of documents such as JOAs, AFEs, assignments, farmout agreements, etc.
:Work with Division Order analyst in preparation of JIB decks and title curative review.
:Coordinate with the regulatory department to permit wells.
:Work with surface land on plating, identifying lease lines, no:perf zones, legal descriptions and tract ownership.
:Monitor drilling rig program for lease obligations, expirations and continuous development obligations needing be to be met.
:Advise management/Senior Landman on potential acquisitions, title issues and/or trades in the area of responsibility.
:Effectively communicate with team members

:Ability to communicate and work effectively with a multi:disciplined team including geologists, engineers, and technicians
Supervisory responsibilities:
Advise and work directly alongside other Landmen and technicians in the Land department.
Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines .
Physical Demands:
This is largely a sedentary role: However, while performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands and arms to reach. The worker is also required to have close visual acuity for viewing a computer terminal, reading, transcribing, and preparing and analyzing data and figures.
Position type and expected hours of work:
This is a full:time position, and typical work hours are Monday:Friday 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the core work hours.
Minimal travel is required.
Minimum Qualifications:
:Bachelor Degree in Business or related field preferred
:2+ years of in:house industry related experience is required, Permian Basin and horizontal drilling experience is preferred.
