Requisition Number 17-0030 Post Date 3/7/2017 Title Customer Service Representative City Austin State TX Description GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB: Respond to members and providers over the telephone with issues related to healthcare concerns including but not limited to: benefit questions, claims, authorizations, provider network and other issues as needed.To ensure online application submits properly, please apply via laptop or PCESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Answer member questions over the telephone regarding insurance benefits timely, accurately and on a continuous basis by utilizing all available resources. Create phone logs documenting changes to member records accurately. Document communication to the member, provider and FirstCare employee file and/or inform appropriate staff. Conform to all HIPPA guidelines on a daily basis without exception. Transfer calls to other departments, as necessary. Consult with other departments on member and/or provider inquiries. Prepare email & fax correspondences as requested. Assist potential members, as well as participants in finding a primary care physician. Assist in the training of new and temporary help. Participate in outbound calling campaigns including new member welcome calls Participate in customer service problem solving. Adhere to Company Policy and Procedures. Display professionalism in both manner and dress. Ability to communicate clearly and accurately over the phone to customers. Ability to interact as a productive member of the customer service team. Ability to sit for extended periods of time at a designated work station in accordance with ADA. Ability to understand and comprehend instructions and new products. Ability to attend work as scheduled unless on approved Leave. Ability to accept and perform new duties as assigned. Ability to stay focused on the Computer Monitor for extended periods of time. Ability to work under minimal to moderate noise levels. Assist other departments as needed. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or minimum six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Type 40 words per minute required. Demonstrated working experience with Word and Excel required. Prior customer service experience highly preferred. Demonstrated work experience in problem solving. Spanish speaking is a plus.
