Solution Developer – Technology Consulting (Austin, TX)

As part of the team, you will work in our Application Modernization Studio, which sits in a beautiful area of Austin, Texas, just minutes from downtown. We work with our Products partner on developing and delivering automated refactoring and modernization service offerings to clients. Here, you’ll get the chance to build on your technical and business skills and help our clients achieve a higher level of service in operational efficiency and business value.
Work you’ll do
As a Solution Developer working in Application Modernization, you’ll work with an experienced team to help transform application code written in older/legacy languages (e.g., COBOL, Natural, PL/1) into modern languages (e.g., Java, .NET). This process helps our clients solve problems, improve operations, and update their applications more efficiently.
Your tasks may include:
• Continued integration of assigned functions as they are transitioned to the new platform
• Analysis of batch inputs and outputs
• Unit testing of modernized code and documentation of the results
Key skills include: analyzing information, hands-on programming, problem solving, testing, and teamwork.
Our US Delivery Center team is comprised of deeply passionate and experienced professionals who guide clients through their most complex technology challenges. We work with clients and help them develop custom software solutions, manage their applications and databases, and provide strategic recommendations to help them optimize their businesses’ operations, processes, and performance. • Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or IT-related area
• Strong academic track record (minimum GPA of 3.0)
• Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve, and simplify complex technical issues for clients
• Knowledge of software development principles and hands-on programming experience through coursework or internship
• Knowledge of Java, JEE(J2EE), .NET, SQL, and mainframe technologies (COBOL, PL/1, JCL and VSAM)
• Experience or interest in legacy modernization, application modernization, code refactoring, or code migration
