2am Lullaby

Synopsis: A burlesque dancer sings a nightly lullaby after the glitter has faded away and the makeup has been wiped off. The night janitor works, listens, and is reminded of home by the tune he secretly hears. An encounter between the two may change the way they see themselves.

Character Breakdowns:


Night Porter
Male, Mexican Immigrant, Spanish Speaking, Mexican accent when speaking English, Early 30’s, 5’10” and over, medium complexion. He’s a focused and carries himself with integrity. He’s happy to have a job that allows him to send money back home to make sure his mother is taken care of.

Female, 3rd Generation Mexican American, Early 30’s. The leader is of her burlesque troupe. She’s a local diva, driven, smart, and knows how to control a room. Underneath her strong sexy exterior is a vulnerable girl looking for the protection she felt as a child from her mother and father.
