Additional Information Purpose Performs receptionist duties; provide clerical support and excellent customer service in the KUT/KUTX public lobby. Provides first point of contact with KUT/KUTX listeners, visitors, members, sponsors, and vendors. Essential Functions Provides customer service for station listeners, visitors, guests, and callers. Staffs the front desk reception area while KUT is open to public. Answers, screens, and routes incoming telephone calls. Responds to inquiries from listeners, visitors and employees (in person, by e-mail and by telephone). Greets and provides hospitality for guests. Checks membership records using membership software. Assists with special events and receptions. Checks station general e-mail and responds to or forwards messages as appropriate. Provides administrative support for station's administrative office. Maintains office supply inventory and ordering for all departments. Maintains files. Hires and supervises student staff members as needed. Prepares and submits semi-monthly payroll. Performs administrative tasks as needed and directed by supervisor. Maintains calendar and programs for scheduling employee vacation, holidays, special events, programming and other. Assists with KUT member communication. Contributes positively to the team within the administrative office. Frequently communicates issues of importance to appropriate station staff. Seeks or offers assistance when needed and available as directed by supervisor. Marginal/Incidental functions Other related functions as assigned. Required qualifications High school graduation or GED. Three years of experience with computerized clerical functions. Two years experience in direct customer service. Must demonstrate knowledge of current KUT 90.5 FM and KUTX 98.9 FM Programming. Experience using MS Outlook, MS Word and MS Excel. Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and work as a team member. Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Skills scores + Spelling (score on file) + Typing (score on file) Preferred Qualifications UT Austin experience. Experience with the public, especially in a broadcast environment. Experience using web applications to update web sites. Experience with PointPlus, UT Market and University of Texas purchasing policies and procedures. Experience with processing cash deposits, payment vouchers and RTAs in DEFINE and University of Texas at Austin policies and procedures. Good spelling score and keyboarding ability. Working conditions May work around standard office conditions Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Use of manual dexterity Lifting and moving Position may occasionally require working on weekends and holidays. Lift standard office supplies, files and deliveries and move tables, chairs and supplies to set up for special events. A criminal history background check will be required for finalist(s) under consideration for this position. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
